Started off wanting to build a 6902, and then.. well idk.
I like it though. Waiting for the stamp so I can chop it down to 10.5"

It’s beautiful as it is.

I’d keep the barrel untouched & replace with a 10.5 though.. or just cut it to 14.5

I have SBRs but I opted to keep this one at 16”. That barrel profile makes for an incredibly well balanced carbine.

I won't argue there, mine is very well balanced and pretty damn light as it sits.
I had thought of doing something with this mount for use with a red dot.

Nice, clean build. Nothing wrong with that.

Nice carbine OP. My R6600 has its Colt quirks, but accurate rifle.

16” pencil is tits, did you use a brownells?

I would prefer a 16” to a 14.5” for the sp1 carbine aesthetic and greater velocity over a 14.5 p&w.

Build a 10.5” with a brace and call it a day.

I used a Del-Ton chrome lined pencil barrel with a 1/9 as I only plan on shooting 55gr through it, plus I caught it on sale for $99.
To date I've only shot it at 50yrds with IMI M193 and it holds 1" groups (at 50) with my old eyes. It's extremely light, accurate and very controllable.

I already have a 10.5 (11" actually) w/a brace and it is an absolute dream to shoot. One of my favorite builds.

I haven't seen a gooseneck in 20 years... and I have a bunch in a box somewhere in the basement.
