I’ve got a Marlin 45-60 guide gun off to get threaded. I asked that they thread it in .578x28 because that’s what some of the other suppressor hosts I have are threaded in. I looked at the new Marlin made by Ruger. The factory thread is 11/16x24.
Is .578x28 too small for 45-70? My other guns are 45acp. Now I’m concerned that taking that much metal off will be too much and I’ll blow it apart when shooting.

So the factory thread parter sound good but I haven’t seen a thread adapter for Huxwrx or the booster for Silencerco (that’s what Huxwrx uses) in that pattern. What is another common pattern I could use for this that thread adapters are generally available in?

It looks like these are my options:
.578 X 28 (AC24)
1/2 X 28 (AC25)
M13.5 X 1LH XL (AC626)
M13.5X 1LH (AC26)
M14.5 X 1LH (AC27)
M16 X 1LH (AC28)
M16 X 1RH (AC29)
5/8 X 24 (AC30)
9/16 X 24 (AC31)
1/2 X 36 (AC57)
1/2 X 28 XL (AC59)
.578 X 28 XL (AC1346)
1/2 X 28 SN (AC1756)

I realize some of these won’t work at all for 45. This is just the list they have.

I do have a m16x1 left. It looks like that’s a little more metal. 5/8x24 seems like it could be a better option too. Would that work better?

Well, I called them and told them to change it to the 11/16x24. I’ll figure out away to get the suppressor mounted. I figured it better that thank blow the end of it out.
