wondering what your thoughts are...how are the buttons / dial feel? is the size the exact same as the PVS-14? I can see the battery compartment is smaller...wondering about the rest of it.

It's a great housing. The multifunction switch is the PVS-14 knob form factor and works great. This knob turns it on and adjusts the gain. The IR button is easy to operate and isn't in a spot were you would likely accidentally turn it on. If that were a concern then you can put a dab of silicone over the emitter or a piece of tape.
Photos don't do it justice but it is smaller than a -14 in terms of the overall size which is noticeable when wearing it you can see it around better as it's not as wide as a PVS-14. Add RPO lenses (we offer it as an option for the RVM-14) and it is much lighter than a PVS-14 yet made of 7075.
The only downside to it is that you can't fix it yourself by just replacing parts like you can with a PVS-14 (if that is important to you). So for example swapping out the battery housing if that were to crap out on you. I should mention that this pertains more so for the DIY'er because if you buy a PVS-14 as a finished system with a warranty then taking it apart will void the warranty.
This isn't a big deal if you buy from a vendor (shameless plug
) such as TNVC who offers a Lifetime Warranty because if you had a problem then you will get it fixed at no cost to you.
