I've got this sweet chrome lined 10.5inch upper for my RR M16.  I'd like to take the flash hider off, but it looks pinned?

Whats the trick? Just grind it down to the threads, drill the pin, or what? Never done it before but I'm capable, just don't know the process.

It is pinned. You will have a dimple in the barrel under it. Use an end mill.

Yeah... but it's pinned, so what should I do?

I thought that was a LoudenerTM.

Why you want to take off the LoudenerTM?

I would 100% leave it as is. Whatever project you’re looking to do, I would just get another upper and barrel.

The weld will need removed. An end mill cutter is the best option.  A std twist bit will work also.

Center punch the weld, drill slightly oversized. Once you have drilled to depth, fixture in a vise. Using a wrench, rotate the MD slightly back/forth with the pin at the 6 o clock position while tapping the MD with a hammer. The pin should drop free.

It can also be done with a cut off wheel, but it can be messy.
