Hello,

I would appreciate if someone here could help me figure something out:

I have a Trijicon TA-33G-H ACOG that is calibrated for 62 grain 5.56. I want to use 77 grain ammo through the rifle that it is mounted on.

The scope height is 1.93, the ammo velocity is 2564 fps out of a 16” barrel.

Does anyone have STRELOK PRO or something similar to determine what the best zero would be with this set up for the BDC to correspond with this particular load and BDC?

Thanks in advance.

Did you a spacer to make it 1.93?

Just pull up the specs for the reticle that has the subtensions and put your data in any ballistic calculator from the zero you want and see where the drop lines up to the subtensions.

If you think you’re going to change you’re zero for the 100 yard lines to just line up, it doesn’t work like that. Different weight bullets with different BC’s at different velocities. This is why traditional BDC reticles that don’t have even mil or MOA line spacing suck.

TA33s didn't have a .pdf for their horseshoe dot reticles, so I borrowed from the TA31's.

300m: 5-ish MOA
400m: 8.3 MOA
500m: 13.1 MOA
600m: 19.2 MOA
700m: 27.1 MOA
800m: 37.2 MOA

JBM says:

For meters, try a 200m zero. For yards, try 100yd zero minus 1.5 MOA.

If you handload or can find Federal or Black Hills, 69-grain Sierra Match Kings are very close in length and profile to 62-grain GI Ball and may follow your BDC reticle closer than 77s.
