Darnnit - that damn email shows 77 OTM at $10.99.
Has it really jumped to $12.49 since my first order? |

So, what’s the consensus on the 77 OTM vs 77 SMK, so far? Are people finding that the SMK is worth the extra $3-$3.50/box, or does the OTM seem like the sweet spot?

Personally, I only buy the otm’s. Thank you, both! Definitely not concerned with squeezing out every possible bit of accuracy, as I’m not a competition shooter. I just want a reliable 75-77gr cartridge with good enough accuracy that I can count on to hit my target if I do my job, correctly (small deer/coyote sized targets at 200-300 yds, not a quarter at 500 yds!). Oh, and I’d prefer not to pay 75¢-$1/rd, if possible. Sounds like OTM will be great, for me…I’m definitely in that 95%! |

it's weird that the 77gr OTM has been out for a year and I still don't think I've seen any gel tests
there was one set of pics posted in this thread but nothing on youtube where people usually run to do gel tests of a new load |

I don’t have many not drop in their tracks. I have shot a couple behind the shoulder and both didn’t make it far. Had a great blood trail on one even though we didn’t need it. He only went about 30 yards. That one we shot at about 150. YMMV. I don’t get into science and academics of bullets and loads. I just kill shit with them and take notes. |

I'm typically only shooting Winchester or Federal 193 (55 gr) for training. But my HD load is 77 TMK or 77 SMK.
The AAC 77 OTM is now cheaper than most bulk M193 from Federal, and Winchester. I'm bulking up on it and will run it during my next carbine course. How it handles in a dirty suppressed carbine with known reliable mags, we shall see. |

Alright this here is my 14.5 Super Duty. It's had at least 5k rounds since the last time I did anything to the bore besides run a bore snake with with CLP on it. Today I was re zeroing my optic after installing it on a mount I got off a prize table. Vortex Crossfire, ZRO mount, Vortex 3x Micromag.
Attached File I wasn't on paper at first so I sent some singles. Once I got one to hit paper I did some cranking on my knobs and sent a group, pretty half assed shooting, just bussin to see how my cranking went. Then I made another adjustment and sent another group. That's 5 shots at 50 yards. Attached File |

I finally shot some myself. It was moa in my first 5 shot group. I was getting 3 moa from 855 and couldn't group anything with 55gr
I'm not a great bench guy so I was pretty impressed that I could even get 5 off under an inch. |

Why is it I'm getting baffle strikes "just enough to make a sninny spot" from my 11.5 AR with a 1:7 twist, but same suppressor and ammo on my 16" bolt action with a 1:8 twist it shoots great ?

I assembled a parts bin SPR last month with unused optics and parts. All I needed was a barrel and gas tube. Went with a Ballistic Advantage 18” SPR barrel. Wears a USGI trigger but I’ll probably drop an MBT Larue into it. In keeping with the budget build theme I picked up 200rnds of AAC 77gr OTM “Precision” (not SMK). Of the boxes I’ve opened (all the same lot) about 20% of the rounds are dented. I’ll reach out to PSA to see what they say but I plan on trying to shoot them at least. More to follow in the coming week or so with velocities and groups. I zeroed it with contract overrun LC M855 last weekend and it shot 5x five shot groups into 1.5”. Looking to see if this ammo will hold MOA…which is my ultimate goal for this build.
