Okay guys, I need someone to bring me up to date on current FAL kit prices.  The most I paid for a complete parts kit was $450.  I was offered an
‘Imbel” kit and wanted to know what to realistically offer.

Prices have gone crazy on kits.

If you can get a kit for $500 I'd go for it.  That is as much as I'd pay for one.

I have seen nice Imbel kits for close to/at $1000 recently. Best place to get a good idea of current pricing is on the Marketplace at the FAL Files.

I think I bought the last Imbel kit for $580? in the winter of 2021. From there prices have gone parabolic. There are two on GB right now for 1500 but I don't know if they will trade at that price.

Numbers matching IMBEL kit in excellent condition could easily fetch $600. or more these days. Condition is everything but I wouldn’t pay more than six unless it was exceptional and I really need one. Keep an eye on the falfiles marketplace but you have to be quick and watching it. Gunjoker may have a good one show up. Mags are the big problem or I should say good mags.

Oh man. 500-600$ is pretty low these days. For a run of the mill Imbel kit 850-900$ probably. But they sell regularly for more than that. If you see one under 800$ it’s a rarity. 1100$ for matching Imbel kit sold just recently. The days of 550$ kits is long gone. Which is too bad, it’s a great hobby. I bought nos Argentine kits for 450$ when Sarco had them years back. That same kit is probably 12-1300$ now

Maybe the kits you’re looking at are high. Doesn’t matter to me anyway, I have dozens of kits, some with barrels. I bought kits for $99. back in the day that were almost new if not new.

I’m just judging by what things sell for on FALfiles. Even Whatacountry is pricing theirs at 959$. Gunthings has matching kits for 1200$. If you can find em for 5-600$ please share, I’d snap some up! I’ve heard stories about the days of 99$ kits, jealous of your stash man. It was before my time so I was late to the game.

I bought my first kit (StG 58) back in the 90s for $165. They included the barrels back then. Currently, if you can find a nice StG kit with barrel, they are in the neighborhood of $1500. Though not quite as expensive, nice Imbels are not cheap by any means.

So three Brit kits for $470 total is an ok deal?

Ok, it was ten years ago.  and I was short one safety switch but it was three barrels and stocks and all.
