One of my first SBS creations. I had a standard matt black 1100 with a 21 inch rifled barrel that needed some changes.
I came to 14 inch barrel as the final product. This gun started my learning process about SBS 12 gauges, their gas needs, and their overall needs in order to function correctly.
I had purchassed a used magnum 1100, also in matt black. The magnum barrel has only one gas port due to the higher pressures.
I added a second port of the same size to the left of the existing port as it was offset to the right, they are nicely centered now.
I wanted a smaller package overall so the original Remington buttstock was replaced with a youth Speed Feed stock. Exact match. Fore end is stock Remington.
The length of pull is now 12 7/8 inches. Overall 34 inches, a good overall length for an HD shotgun. On round mag tube extension added, sling swivels, and a Hi Viz fiber optic front sight.
This gun runs really nice just as a 30 inch version would. I created this 1100 in 2014 so it has a pretty good number of rounds thru it, mostly lower power 3 dram, 1 1/8 oz loads
The 1100 is an excellent semi auto candidate to SBS. Can be pricey at todays prices. I could have gone shorter on the barrel but being a rookie, I wanted to stay on the safe side (cycling) with 1200 FPS rounds.
