I just started shooting 3 gun last year, so I've only got one pistol that's really up to par.  I bought this XD .40S&W Service (4") in 2004 to serve as my first CCW piece.  I've moved to a smaller platform for CCW carry and I've picked up a number of other pistols, but the XD is still my favorite gun to shoot, and the one I'm most accurate with.

My goal is to work heavily on my pistol skills as we move into the 2012 season, and I'd like to replace this bad boy with an XDm 5.25 Competition model in 9mm.  I've been torn between the XD Tactical with it's 5" barrel and the XDm with the additional capacity, and the 5.25 Competition models have solved that dilemma entirely.  It's hard to beat 19 rounds and a 5.25" slide at that price point.

The Edge was purchased from Dawson Precison with thier reliability package. I have 2 21 round mags and the rest hold 20.
I also use my Glock 17 sometimes when I don't care about winning as much as I do practicing with my duty guns.

Last winter's project; a new 3 Gun / USPSA Limited Class gun for me. All work done by my wife's favorite gunsmith

Starting point; one of the Para display guns (P16-40) that a retailer ran on sale:

A new rear sight set into a protected leaf cut:

A new Brazos dovetail front sight:

New FCG, grip safety, ambi safety, mag catch and mag well:

A few hours later (well.... hours over the course of several days) and its a 21+1 capacity .40 S&W

Later I did a non-slip treatment to the factory grips (Decon plastic epoxy and Black Beauty blasting media) and anti-skid tape on the front strap:

Wow!  21+1 is crazy!  That's a darn fine shooter you've got there, thanks for sharing!  Out of curiosity, are you using Para mags?

It's still a work in progress but its a .40Pro getting some "limited" treatment.

From left to right its a 15 rounder, 2 19 rounders, and a 21 round starter.
Watch out Glockfan, I'm gunnin for you.

Nothing fancy about XD Tactical 9mm.  I fancy some new sights, but a Springer trigger is more important and that may come around tax return time.

Cool thread, alot of sweet pistolas out there

Heres my addition:

Glock 22 - Gen 3
KKM 40-9mm conversion barrel
Carter customs 10 port comp
SJC Cmore mount w/ Cmore 8moa
10/14lb uncaptured springs
Glockworx trigger and other trigger goodies
Lowered ejection port, white sound defense increased tension ejection assembly/etc

Finally got it running right, fun project

Just got this back after a 7 month wait. I gave Bobby at Freedom Gunworks my ideas in regards to the machine work, and let him have artistic freedom with the finish. Im beyond happy with how it turned out.

This is in .40 and will primarily see USPSA use, but I will be loading some none PF loads so I can utilize in 3gun. A few months from now Ill be sending him another build sheet for one in 9mm specifically for 3gun.

Poor man's 3gunner pistol.

G34, vaneck trigger, dawson sights, kkm barrel, ISMI spring and rod, custom stipple, dawson ICE magwell. (it came to me with the KKM and ISMI, I'd be fine with factory as the KKM makes it slightly finicky when it gets really dirty from rolling around on the ground)

I fall in the "shoot what ya got" category.

If and when I buy a competition pistol, the Accurate Iron 2011 really look nice.

Pretty crappy phone picture of my 3 gun pistols.  SP01 shadow is my primary with 75 shadow as my backup.  My major pistol is now a CZ Standard IPSC 40cal.  With 20 round mags.

Must require one hell of a lot of reloads per stage.  Ever considered shooting revolver instead?

Not as nice as some of those STI pistolas.....but this Glock 34 has done ok for me.

Gen 3 Glock 34:
-Zev Tech fulcrum trigger
-Dawson ICE magwell
-Dawson front fiber optic and black rear adjustable sight
-lighter recoil spring (14# I believe)
-captured Jager plastic guide rod
-I reduced the top finger nub and undercut the trigger guard with a dremel
-I stippled the frame with a soldering iron
" />

I made my own Kydex holsters.....not as nice as what some of you have, but they have worked ok, and I dont have much money into them ($20 in materials total....maybe)
" />

.......and I know that my rounds are facing backwards on my rifle reload, I have been able to get used to round forward for pistol, but not for rifle yet.

All of these guns are a world better than what I own but this one is the one I come here to drool over. Love this thing. Thinking about doing my new rifle in this finish as well. Reminds me of the SOCOM non-reflective finish. Anybody buying up souls in here? I'd offer mine up in exchange for a similar STI.

Like this finish? lol Its similar but a little different. Thanks for the compliments. Its one of the main pistols I shoot the most.
9mm, Infinity tri glide trigger system breaks at 2.5 pounds. STI recoilmaster makes it feel like a 22lr.
