Funny? I can't. The first time I heard Wanda Sykes I thought she was kinda funny. I go back and listen now and realize she's just raunchy and nasty. I could go through the whole list and can't think of a single one that I think is funny. I honestly don't know how Sarah Silverman can afford to pay her light bill, much less be famous and rich. Who's funding her?

I may have seen a few in passing that were funny, but nothing really comes to mind. When you think of the top ten greatest comedians, I don't believe any would be women.

Stand up comedy is dead as fried chicken.  None of them (male or female) is nearly as funny as stand ups were 25-30+ years ago.  That industry is dead.

Everything is angsty and race-based, and it’s just not funny.

Hardest I ever laughed at a female comedian live was probably Marsha Warfield. She was drunk as hell, but definitely on a roll that night.  Believe it or not, Ellen Degeneres wasn’t bad on stage either, early in her career (she got pretty lame after a while though).  I used to watch a lot of standup back in the day, and was lucky enough to see a lot of good (and bad) comedy.

I’ll second that.  She is funny.
Maria Bamford is good too.
Rita Rudner was good.  Don’t know if she’s still performing, but her older stuff was good.

Jeanne Robertson was more of a humorist than a straight standup comedian, but she was very funny.  Kind of a Southern church lady persona.

I can’t remember the last time a “comedian” actually gave me a genuine laugh (probably early Chapelle).  The industry is a pale shadow of what it once was.

There was a BILLION dollars in stand-up comedy ticket sales last year. Comedy is probably more popular now than it ever has been.

Saw her in las Vegas in the mid 80's.  There was a lady in the front that Joan kept referring the as "Hooker".  At the end of the show she has Hooker come up on stage and take a potted plant for being a good sport.

Later on that night as we walked out of the casino, there was a limo with a potted plant sticking out of the moon roof.

A lot of the old comedians have stated comedy is dead. There are some male comedians still doing what they can but the female comedians just stand there ranting about the corpse.
Oh well, sux to be a leftist and have such a bleak future. It will suck even more when you realize you helped kill comedy off.

Female comedians have a couple bits that are funny and a lot that aren't.  Even women would rather see male comics that don't grab one shtick and completely wear it out.

It's what they know both men and women can relate to.

There's plenty of female comedians that do comedy aimed at women, but because a lot of men can't relate they lose half their potential audience.

We've watched women that my wife found hilarious and I didn't quite get, and men that did the same but the other way around.

The best part of the roast was how Gronk took endless shit about being dumb then he gets up there and sounds completely fucking dumb.  It wasn't even a bit, just Gronk proving everyone right.
