Holy shit. It’s insane leftist. Like 8000 people commenting on articles saying trump killed a puppy in the Oval Office and shit. Tons of communism shit. But these are the most interesting to me. Should have gone to plumbing or electrical or trade school.
I just had 13k of work done at my house. Father/son team. Worked 8 days. Materials cost 5k. So they made 8k in under two weeks and have another similar job lined up to start Monday. |

I just posted in the two suicide thread...
This Reddit post is an example of what's going on out there with young people now a days... Idk, I'm on two sides of the fence with this: 1st side? Kid should buck up and eat shit until he gets himself where he needs to be - cuz that's life, you start out and earn/build shit. But, thanks to parents coddling their kids; giving them shit they haven't earned; and, not instilling work ethic, values, etc. in them, kids think the world owes them something. 2nd side? IMO, thanks to the Globalists and all that, it's harder to get a start - much less have a future for a minute now. The cost of everything has gone up; a college degree is a joke; low wages/barely any benefits; corporations don't value employees and come up with tricks to make everyone essentially a "contract" employee that can be dropped at any time. |

I try to stay in sub reddits I'm interested in like fishing, tools, a few others. The sub reddit for the town I live in though is full of this kind of shit and people wanting to meet up somewhere and smoke weed. It's awful.

It's just a massive site of so many subs that you can really get lost in it.
Best to just seek out a handful of subs on topics that interest you and subscribe to them, then your front page will only be stuff that you actually care about. The help, news and politics subs are all pretty bad. Trade and hobby specific subs are usually really good though. |

Parenting has gone downhill since everyone has gotten smartphones. Kids need attention when they're kids and many kids can't compete with their parents phones. I see it in the classroom. I taught a boy-4th grade who bawled (tears and everything) 5 times in one day. The first time I gave him a hug and the second time I told the class the story about the little boy who cried wolf. He didn't get it. He needs parenting. The 22 in the Reddit post didn't get parenting either. It's going to wreak havoc. I'm very thankful I didn't have a smartphone when my kids were young. I hope I have the discipline to have left it in the other room but with my ADHD it is hard to say.

The fact that he can’t even get a job in the kitchen of a chain restaurant tells me that there’s more to the story than just “I can’t find a job”.
Is he expecting $60k a year to make sandwiches while working 12 hours a week on his schedule of choice? Your attitude and work ethic has to be pretty terrible for a chain restaurant to turn you away. |

I spend quite a bit of time on Reddit. There are lots of great (non-political) subreddits on there. It is essentially a million forums in one.
That said, Reddit as a whole is about as fringe left as it gets. I see some truly bizarre shit on there. I think it’s interesting, albeit maddening, to hear “their” perspective on things. Most of it is so far out of left field, and detached from reality, that it truly boggles the mind. |

Yeah, Reddit has some insane BS, and while there is some very good content, the nontechnical groups sometimes have too much nasty, shitty behavior from the immature and woke legions of the anonymous.
I use the "mute a community" feature in Settings ->Safety&Privacy so that the worst BS stays out of my feed. It's workable. |
