This is the first time I've been able to track a drone on ADS-B. Is it common to see military drones?

Fairly common - generally required for any that operate within the normal ATC system.  Not the small tactical drones, but the high altitude loitering types have had transponders for a long time.  If you are using them in an area of enemy air defenses, those won't be on, pretty much as with any combat aircraft.

If you look at New Mexico, Arizona, and Southern California, there's often something cool in the air.

It's not uncommon to see an MQ-4 from Patuxent or Jacksonville operating off the coast of VA.
