UPDATE 3-12-24
We're a little over a month away and looks like we have a good sized group of 29 folks attending. I'll be ordering the patches next week so I'll leave the poll up until next Monday.

For those interested, I'm hosting a bbq at my place the night prior to the event. I know we have a few coming, if you plan on attending shoot me a PM so I can plan for food. Will be a good night of brisket, pulled pork, beer, bourbon, and HAMMERSCHLAGEN!
-
UPDATE 12-06-2024
I called and spoke with the supper clubs I had listed below. Three of them will not take a reservation this large on a Saturday, which in understandable. One would take the reservation but would require a $1,000 deposit, which I would prefer not to do. The last one, Jim and Linda's Lakeview Supper Club in Pipe, Wisconsin, was able to take the reservation for an 8pm dinner time. I personally have been to this supper club numerous times and always left pleased, so I went ahead and booked the reservation with them for Saturday April 27th, 2024 for an 8pm seating. They have a rather large bar area, so his suggestion was for us to arrive around 6pm for cocktails at them bar and plan on 8pm for dinner. For anyone wanting to view a menu, they have one on their website: Jim And Linda's Lakeview Supper Club Menu

-

As there was interest and curiosity about Wisconsin Supper Clubs in one of my more recent threads, someone mentioned it would be nice to have a meet-up at one for local 'Sconnies to get together as well as anyone from out of state that would like the Supper Club experience. I had mentioned that if there was enough interest I would be willing to arrange it. Well, looks like we have some initial interest so here we are.

Some of you make be wondering what a supper club is. A traditional Wisconsin Supper Club is a combination of a Wisconsin dive bar with a nice restaurant that is usually known for Friday Fish and Saturday Prime Rib. They are typically the main attraction for many small towns as it is where the locals gather for mingling, cocktails (brandy old fashioned sweet is the norm) and food...they are more of a social club, but not actually a club, so don't worry about having to join.  They are locally owned and are like taking a step back in time. See photos below for an idea of what to expect:

DETAILS OF EVENT

-
As of now, I'm thinking Saturday April 27th, 2024 would work best as it gives anyone thinking off attending from out of state time to plan and make travel arrangements, and should also (hopefully) be past the Wisconsin snow season so road travel will be safe for in-state attendees that will be making the drive. Supper clubs typically open the bar at 4:30pm and begin seating for dinner at 5pm. My thought is arrive at 4:30pm for drinks and plan on being seated around 7pm.

-Will be in the greater Lake Winnebago area as there are a few local airports for anyone flying in and is fairly central in the state. This would be a good event to bring the wife or significant other with and hang out with some like minded folks while having cocktails and a steak. Most supper clubs in the area can handle groups of 30-50. We'll start with 30. If there is a possibility for more spots, I will update here. There are 4-5 places I have in mind and will reach out to them tomorrow as they are closed on Tuesdays. For those local, the clubs I'm thinking are:

-Schwartz's in New Holstein
-Jim and Linda's in Pipe
-Black Otter in Hortonville
-Haase's in Winneconne
-George's in Appleton

The average cost for a dinner is about $35 for a steak or prime rib, including soup or salad, choice of potato, and dinner rolls.

Below I've tagged those who have mentioned they're interested. If you want to be added @ me and I will add you. If you are signing up, let me know how many plates so I can keep count.

Scribin’. I’ll get in touch as the date gets closer. Depends on the daughter’s figure skating competition schedule.

Had a Lug1 sighting in Colorado at the Sand Dunes in 2016 would get to actually meet him at this one.

Let me check my schedule and see where we’ll be. Funny thing, I mapped it out on the iPad and it’s 7 hours and 28 minutes from our home in Missouri and 7 hours and 27 minutes from our home in Ohio. The route from Ohio unfortunately goes right through Chicago.

Where would one fly into to attend such an event?

Depending on when, I’m likely interested.

Chicago here.

TX peasant checking in. Have never been to a supper club before. Seems like a long way to go, but maybe we can work in some northern shooting?

There's a nice range about 40 mins from Appleton that is public, no RO's. Could certainly do a pre-supper get together range trip.

That's fairly common for most of the supper clubs. Most of their patrons are regulars that know all the ins and outs, so a web presence is not really needed. I've found most websites for supper clubs to be clunky, have broken links, or not been updated in a rather long time.

As for lodging, are you flying in, renting a vehicle vehicle, looking to do any other sigh-seeing? I can make some recommendations depending on that for you.

I’m going to drive up. Not sure yet if I’ll drive up Friday or Saturday. If I drive up Friday, I’ll be looking for some interesting sights to see on Saturday. I’m sure I’ll be driving home on Sunday.
