Does anyone know of any guide rods that have a lights built into them similar to the discontinued Deadpoint lights for Glocks? I have one of the Deadpoints in a Glock 19 and it’s pretty awesome. Beats the hell out of having to hang a light off the front.

Good to know, had no idea. You got my hopes up but  Looks like the Deadpoint light is still unavailable.

Unfortunately, a 90 lumen light is going to be pretty unimpressive by today's standards.  Plus activation via constant on with pressing the little takedown lever is a bit cumbersome.  Neat idea, but the form factor is just too small to get the performance most users have come to expect, so they're probably dealing with the prospect of tooling up to make it vs. how many do they expect to actually sell.

Of course, I agree it’s not even close to being as bright as most lights you can add but the option to have it “built into” the frame instead attaching an external light is great. Hopefully they introduce a new version in the near future.

Our shield guy on our swat team used one of the old laser guide rods for his glock since he had to do everything single handed. It was the worst. Very finicky.
