So as you go north from I15 just as it goes to one lane from two on the right looks like the County is trying to give shooters a place to shoot outside. It's a complete and utter pig sty, nobody is cleaning anything they bring to shoot. Millions of shotgun shells laying around, furniture, trash....its too bad.

More than one place has been shut down by slob shooters. Unfortunately there's no shortage of those types of people.
On a side note, that sign about ammo sounds like they are leaning towards solid copper ammo like Kalifornia. |

It's been probably 20 years since I've shot there.. pretty sure it's the same area anyway. If you keep going farther towards the mountains there are some good spots that are much safer for shooting. As that spot gained popularity, too many people would just pull up and start shooting in all directions safe or not. Seeing the area trashed is not surprising at all

That's just the entrance, there is a trail that goes towards the mountain...I wonder if there is a bench benchrest setup out there. |

Looks like a normal dirt lot in a 3rd world country. Corn creek was shut down and Cold creek probably will be soon.

About 4-5 years ago volunteers from the Desert Research institute cleaned up the Sloan canyon shooting area.
A month later it looked like it did prior to being cleaned up. As AL-BOB already stated 'We are our own worst enemy.' Tom |
