An out of town coworker was working an event at Mandalay Bay, and when she returned to her room at the Luxor, she was greeted by a homeless crack head occupying her room.

When she walked in the room he was hiding behind her door with the lights off, so she actually entered the room and the door closed behind her before she found out she wasn’t alone. Her luggage had been rummaged and items of a personal nature were missing, so it seems as though he came and went at least once.

Apparently this is a common enough occurrence that hotel security wasn’t too concerned. I got this first hand, and it was rumored that this happened to a second employee working the same show, staying at the Bay.

Crime is out of control in this city right now, tell your loved ones to keep their heads on swivels.

Yeah, you'll never hear about that on the news but it's rampant.

It’s gonna make the news when a crackhead finds out that some people don’t give a shit about gun free zones…

No idea, and very strange considering they have security at the elevators at both properties.

Per fire code, the doors must self latch. The force used to shut the door changes over time. The result is the doors don't self latch anymore. Tourists don't make sure their door is secure. It is a HUGE problem in hotels and especially ones that do not control floor access. Door pushing is what it is called and an easy way for anyone to make some cash. The crafty ones will rent a room there to gain access and then hit every floor they can. Lack of video is intentional on the floors.

That was my theory.

How the fuck isn’t there complete hallway video coverage after the concert shooting?

I travel for work, and a bunch of the hotels have cameras galore right at Face ID level on  every sqft of the property.

I miss the mob.

Wouldn't they end up pushing into alot of occupied rooms as well using this strategy?

Yep. But they do it during the day when no one is likely in the rooms.

No cameras in hallways because of privacy..... can't see you bringing that tranny with a 5 o'clock shadow back to your room.

They want to sell stories. And this is everywhere. If crime was actually reported like it should be, people would get pissed on what was occurring. But you would see areas being further highlighted as high crime, race becoming more well known for offender and crime types, and general disbelief that our politicians do not value our safety. You would also be forced to see how the police lack a serious ability to stop the crime due to lack of personnel and places to lock up offenders. Higher taxes would be the only solution with more money dedicated to our safety.
