So you moved the tires forward but then added more length to the front of the trailer? Oh boy….
|
|
|
No, it’s the same length

I built mine two years ago. It came out a bit heavier than I wanted but it's built stupid stout. The body sides and floor are all 3/4" MDO plywood sealed with epoxy paint and then sprayed with Raptor Liner. Fits a queen mattress inside with a galley out back. The roof is polished aluminum over ash stringers with foam insulation between.
The bulkheads are set to the walls in 3/8" deep dadoes with a bead of 3M 5200 marine sealant and 72 2-1/2" long stainless steel screws in each side. 100 watts of solar with a liFePo4 battery, it only needs to run a few LED lights, the diesel heater and the roof fan. Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File I made my hitch removable. I can pull the lower pin and flip it up to save about 30" of length when I have it stored in the garage. Or I can pull both pins and take the hitch right off, hopefully to deter any shady people from driving off with it. Attached File |

It’s just about done. I did some painting last night, I’ve decided to put a converter in for when I’m in a commercial campground. I’ll do that this week. Attached File

That'll do! Great job. How's it working out so far?

We took it out Thursday and Friday nights. It holds heat in well, tows like a dream and costs zero gas mileage. There’s an actual eagle’s nest above the camper in the first one.

Are you planning aluminum skin or something else like fiberglass? Foam insulation for the top? https://i.imgur.com/093g9AM.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/CXtoDN9.png View Quote We have a 2005 Lil Guy. Fun little campers! I'm slowly retro modding it and adding solar. Also, trying to figure out a kitchen without sacrificing footspace. |
