I have 2 SIG 1911's. Both run perfectly.

The Commander Scorpion with bobbed grip is every bit as good as my Wilson Hack Special.

I was -><- this close to buying a used Baer when I got my Ed Brown. The Baer was one a competition shooter had put a lot of rounds through but Cabela’s still wanted new-gun money for (which is why I went EB, it was new).

Even though it had a pushing-six-figure round count on it, the barrel bushing was tight as could be(!)

I don’t regret going EB but do think of that Baer from time to time.

A coworker at Barrett had a Kart. It was a work of art. Tried for many years to buy it off of him. It just wasn't happening.

I know, I know.....1911 purists cringe at the external extractor. It doesn't bother me.....I'm a user, not a collector.

The two world wars meme in terms of mocking the platform is stupid.

We will have similar memes when it's 2068 and we're still using AR15s.

Mostly just cosmetic. Trigger job with medium length flat trigger installed and refinish entire pistol matte black DLC.

When I ordered mine, I was told “those things will never be an option”.

If I were dictator the entire US Military would go back to 1911 to get a 3rd world War victory.

KAC PDWs for tankers and pilots.

If the military goes back to a 1911, there's no reason to not adopt the 2011. Besides dimensions and nostalgia, the 2011 is better, IMO.

Correct.

However I counter:

- NATO is gay therefore they need to adopt OUR caliber
- Pistols don't win wars therefore they are symbolic
- Nostalgia is an important part of national pride

Correct, and I think nostalgia and enjoyment is a decent reason to do something, honestly. I'm carrying my 1911 right now (to Waffle House!) not because I don't have something lighter/smaller/high capacity. But I love 1911s. I've been shooting them longer and better than anything else. and it's often "good enough"
