I’m at Penn Station East Coast Subs in Nashville. Their system is down and there is a line of Millennials waiting for the system to come back up so they can place their orders. Luckily, cash is part of my EDC, so I skipped the line.

Unless i'm going to a strip club i probably don't have cash most of the time either.

Gen X’er here and I don’t carry cash.
Honestly can’t tell you the last time I had cash or coin in my pocket |
|
How do you know they're millennials?
You know there are other Generations, right? Zoomers Gen z Gen x Boomers I'm a millennial and I carry cash on me. |

OP whipped out his FDE Cordura wallet and let the Velcro tab rip, ensuring all who stood near know that cash is king.

These days I try to keep a hundred bucks on me, but these days that isn't much money to be honest.
|

Honestly just about every post I have seen from OP has appeared to be troll. Some of them I have been unsure of but the more he posts the more I am sure.

That's good they don't. First garage sale I went to yesterday I got two full cases of grease tubes [Moly] for $5.

Bank card malfunctions frequently,
It's good to have cash back up has saved my bacon a few times. |

Wampum for me. Good enough for the Original People, good enough for me.

I have cash for:
Small purchases Credit card not working Fee charged for credit card Sit down restaurant My boys don't carry cash, they have $20 in glovebox I put there in case of credit card problem and they need gas. |

I hope I don't live long enough to be a part of a "cashless society". It sounds like being a mouse on a treadmill for life with no way to get off.

I always carry cash. I almost never use it, but I always carry it.

I haven't carried more than $2-3 in cash in the last 10 years. The only reason i even carry that is to contribute to the powerball pool at work on the rare occasion someone organizes one. I dont want to be the only guy there on monday because everyone else is a millionaire now.

The people that carry cash and the ones that don’t know how to use the ATM in a quick and efficient manner.
I’ve started carrying it more to tip rather than put it on the card. Trying to do my part by allowing the servers to tell Uncle Sam whatever they want to come tax time. |

I'm a boomer and I don't use cash and haven't in 10 - 15 years. It used to piss my wife off back when McDonalds cokes were a $1 and I'd give them a CC for a $1.08 (With tax).

"Everyone I don't like is a millennial"
(meanwhile all the people OP is whining about are zoomers). |

I was up in Cambridge, MA a few weeks ago visiting my son and we went to the one Square near Harvard. We decided to get something to drink and went in the one Asian restaurant. When I paid for our drinks, I used cash and got a reaction like I had tried to pay with beads and shiny rocks.
My son told me that I was probably the first person to pay for cash since the place opened. |

Imagine going somewhere and waiting in line to order and pay...
Ordering ahead on the app; Skip the cash, skip the downed card system, skip the line. I can think of about half a dozen times I showed up somewhere to pick up my order and a bunch of people waiting watched me stroll to the register and pick up my prepaid order. Plus apps give you rewards and perks. |

I have always carried $200 - $300 in cash, but from 1999 - 2022 I rarely spent any of it. Sometimes going six months between ATM visits. Instead I aggressively pursued miles/cash back.
In the last 18 months or so, more businesses are choosing to offer a cash discount. If the cash discount is 3% or more, then I use folding money. |

I generally don’t carry cash. Mostly because if I lose my wallet, not too big of a deal. Just cancel the credit cards. If I have cash, it may be taken.

I can think of one reason to carry cash and luckily Pete’s Fish and Chips has a ATM on its property.

Always keep a hundo in small bills for “walking around money”. Replenish as needed. This is part of basic preparedness. Particularly for buying fuel. But good for so many things!

Imagine having such a mundane life that this is a story you feel worthy of telling to strangers on the internet.
